With WallyBubba at the now ripe-old-age of almost 12 months old, nothing irks me more than sitting in a cafe with my mum friends and respective toddlers, and looking over to see a gaggle of new mums…
There they sit laughing, smiling, occasionally feeding their minuscule tots then placing them back down in their carry cots where they remain for hour long, silent, sleeping stints… As your toddler smashes a rice cake into your hair, eats a section of laminated menu, hurls Sophie the Giraffe at an unassuming pensioner on a nearby table, and finishes by tipping your wine into the buggy as you reach for a baby wipe.
Bloody lucky un-expecting bastards.

They'll learn. When she was 11 months old my daughter reached as far as she could in an Indian restaurant and just managed to bat at the edge of a huge bowl of rice. It flipped into the air and sprayed the entire room with colourful basmati. I was mortified until I realised just how sodding hilarious it was. People were picking rice out of their hair for the next 2 hours…. 😀
Replylol – you've gotta laugh! I've had a many a wine spilling incident. would've much preferred it to have been rice… lol xx thanks for reading and commenting! x
ReplyI think that waiter who mistakenly served a child a cocktail (in the news) at a restaurant, had the right idea. Calpol just ain't doing it no more.
ReplyYeah… mistakenly my arse. Start em young, let em sleep… my new mantra :))) x
ReplyMy mum used to put brandy in my milk. Probably explains a lot… lol.
Reply😉 lol x my husband had the same. I'm fairly sure it's how I got him to marry me 😛
ReplyIf it's any consolation, those of us who spend entire weekends freezing our bits off on sports fields quite envy you. The grass is always greener.
Replylol 😉 yes, I never appreciated it when I had it that way… if only someone had told me it only gets harder! ha xxx
ReplyGah I never had one of those babies that slept whilst I was at a cafe! Maybe I placed my baby order wrong?!
Or I will miraculously avoid toddler tantrums when those with perfect sleeping babies they have now turn into more of a handful? #wishfulthinking
ReplyI will keep my fingers crossed it is the latter for you! My baby was so chilled out for the first three months I thought I'd hit the jackpot… Then she went through 'the change' .., and we're all DOOMED… Lol xx
ReplyAh, their day will come. And when it does, your kids will be at school, and you will be freeeeeeeee!
ReplyMwah ha ha ha 🙂 See you down the pub? xx
